The Penzance Brewing Company sits out the back of the Star Inn at Crowlas. The former Ushers house has become a popular community hub in the village since Peter Elvin bought, and re-opened it, in 1999.

In 2008, he started brewing in the sheds behind the pub, and the beers have gained a large following, not just in Cornwall, but around the country, too.
